MUCI News! --- NEW FUNDING!
MUCI has received additional funding and will continue to support Michigan’s
research institutions’ commercialization efforts through 2008. A sizable award
from the 21st Century Jobs Fund will create a new Challenge Fund totaling $4.5
million.
Furthermore, the scope of MUCI has been expanded beyond the prior focus
on life sciences. The Challenge
Fund will now accept proposals for commercialization projects
in all four technology sectors supported by the 21st Century Jobs Fund:
- Life Sciences
- Advanced Automotive & Manufacturing
- Alternative Energy
- Homeland Security
What is MUCI? (pronounced "mucky")
MUCI (Michigan Universities Commercialization Initiative) is a collaboration
designed to complement and enhance the technology transfer at Michigan academic
and research institutions by supporting commercialization of Intellectual
Property.
- Manage the MUCI Challenge Fund, which provides awards to commercialization
projects at member institutions.
- Engage in joint activities to disseminate information in the field
of technology transfer
- Facilitate the development of performance indicators related to
technology transfer, and mechanisms to report these data
